Cover Girl 04:09
If you tell me you’re a cover girl I better buy the magazine You look like you come from another world On the back of a weekend dream You’re hiding in the Dublin streetlight Looking for me to land Waiting till this side of midnight So you can still make it hand in hand You tell m you’re in a TV show Must be one that I haven’t seen You look like you once did long ago Through the rose of a tinted screen You’re blinded by the Berlin nightlights While you’re trying to make a stand Waiting till this side of midnight So you can still make it hand in hand The radio plays that song again But you’re dancing on your own I know you’re asking for a friend But you’re walking home alone You tell me you’re going to Hollywood You’re just waiting on the call You say that you’re misunderstood Sadly I understand it all You’re hiding in the New York skyline Waiting for me to land Trying to hit this side of midnight So you can still make it hand in hand The DJ plays that song again But you’re dancing on your own I know you always like make it mend But you’re walking home alone The radio plays that song again But you’re dancing on your own I know you’re asking for a friend But you’re walking home alone You’re spinning round like a carousel That endless sound like a china bell If you tell me you’re a cover girl I better buy the magazine You look like you come from another world On the back of a weekend dream Crying in the Paris moonlight Trying to understand Waiting till this side of midnight So you can still make it hand in hand The DJ plays that song again But you’re dancing on your own I know you always like make it mend But you’re walking home alone The radio plays that song again But you’re dancing on your own I know you’re asking for a friend But you’re walking home alone

PERFECT STRANGER She’s on the line She’s talking to that medicine man of mine She’s on fire She’s talking to the boy who wants to make her buy Now its time When the mirror starts smokin and the lights go out Like a rhyme When the song is broken no-one cares about She could have knocked me blind Dropping me to the floor Tick-tocked to another mind Leaving us wanting more She took it down She ended up running to another town She said it all Now she’s shouting to the boy who wants to make her fall Now its time When the night starts moving and you want go Like a rhyme With a song so soothing, no-one’s gonna know She could have knocked me blind Dropping me to the floor Tick-tocked to another mind Leaving us wanting more Waiting In line but I know The girl has gone Wasting my time cos I know The girl has gone The girl has gone Walking to the edge of danger The world goes on But I’m talking to the perfect stranger She had the word Never lost story that I always heard Down to earth With no-one really knowing what she might be worth Now its time When the mirror starts smokin and the lights go out Like a rhyme When the song is broken no-one cares about She could have knocked me blind Dropping me to the floor Tick-tocked to another mind Leaving us wanting more Waiting In line but I know The girl has gone Wasting my time cos I know The girl has gone The girl has gone Walking to the edge of danger The world goes on But I’m talking to the perfect stranger

One of these days I’m gonna find that sugar word One of these mighty days You know I’ll make it heard One of these times I’m gonna stand up to the call One of these lonely times I’m gonna say it all It’s taken me back again I wish I could tell you where and when But I know it’s where I wanna be I’m living in black and white But you don’t have to tell me why I’m hiding in clear sight It’s a stupid way to say goodbye One of these nights Instead of breaking out the door One of these nights I’ll tell you what I came here for One of these days I’m gonna make it past the wall One of these mighty days You know I’ll take the fall I’m crying in black and white And you don’t need to tell the lie See me fading out of sight Such a stupid way to say goodbye
