about

Originally about the walk of shame after a night out but allegedly inspired by real life events when one of us was left behind in Stockport only to have to make his way to Newcastle via the first train in the morning after sleeping rough at the station. 😂 Again this was recorded by Ding at 6Db studios in Salford and is the second of the six tracks to be made available to you lovely people.

The original was recorded around 18 months ago and has been a live favourite all through last years gigs.

lyrics

Piccadilly Sunrise

There’s no direction home
When you stumble in the night
Every word is stripped to the bone
As you hit the breaking light

There’s only 24 hours
To find that promised land
Forget the hearts and flowers
As you try to understand

There’s nothing I can say
That you think you can’t explain
Even this late in the day
You can’t help but say it again

Just another Piccadilly Sunrise
Leaving me crying inside my head
Just some other promise lost in your eyes
Trying to remember what we said

There’s no neon sign
To send you on your way
Before the word has crossed the line
You find another day

There’s only 24 hours
Left for me to go
Can you forget the hearts and flowers
So no-one else will know

Just a Piccadilly morning
Shaking me blind
Just another little warning
You might be leaving me behind
