Highway #19

about

Originally and acoustic track that I worked on in the summer. I had been planning to go to California last July and drive down the Pacific Highway but Covid #19 got in the way. The song was my way of still taking that drive. Hence the title

lyrics

The spark of sidewalk light
And the dark of the longest night
Should I go or should I stay

Slide out to a second sound
Hide out in a different town
Eden can tempt me another day

Now I’m driving late
You can tell me yet again
Everything is paid
Even tho you said it was heaven sent

It’s stretching to the line now
With nothing in between
Its reaching to the sky now
You wanna say goodbye
You never had to try
On Highway 19

The thrill of a midnight call
And the chill of the wrecking ball
A frozen photo from before

If we move to the ringing bell
It’s something we can never tell
The wheel has twisted a little more
